Bears Stars Gould and Anderson at O’Brien Field May 16th

Duo will sign autographs, throw out first pitches

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs announced that Chicago Bears Pro Bowl Kicker Robbie Gould and standout rookie Defensive End Mark Anderson will be at O’Brien Field on Wednesday May 16th for the 6:30 pm Peoria Chiefs – Beloit Snappers game.

The duo will sign autographs on the concourse during the first few innings of the game for $10 each after taking part in various pregame ceremonies on-field including throwing out ceremonial first pitches. As with other 6:30 pm starts, the gates at O’Brien Field will open at 5:30 pm on May 16th.

Robbie Gould made his first NFL Pro Bowl in 2006 after establishing a new Bears franchise record with 26 consecutive made field goals. His 49 yarder on January 14th beat Seattle and gave the Bears their first post-season win in the divisional round since 1989. Gould joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent in October 2005 and made 77 percent of his field goals that season to earn the starting job. In October 2006 he was named the NFL Special Teams Player of the Month. He was voted to the Pro-Bowl game this February after helping the Bears to their first Super Bowl appearance in 21 years.

Mark Anderson had one of the best rookie seasons in Bears history. The DE recorded a Bears rookie record with 12 sacks and fell just 2.5 sacks short of the NFL rookie record held by Jevon Kearse. Drafted in the 5th round last April, Anderson also set a NFL record for most sacks ever by a player drafted in the 5th round or later. A former University of Alabama standout, Anderson also tied for the Bears lead with four forced fumbles and he recorded 28 tackles on the season. He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for October and finished second in the Defensive Rookie of the year voting to former Alabama teammate DeMeco Ryans.

Both Gould and Anderson will be available to the media at O’Brien Field during a 4:00 pm press conference on May 16th. Tickets for the May 16th game and any other Chiefs game this season are available online at http://www.peoriachiefs.com, by calling 1-866-MYTICKET or at the O’Brien Field Box Office.
