Does it really help this team to have a different starting lineup almost every day? With everything about the lineup in flux all the time, does this help or hurt the Cubs? Clearly, I can't see that this helps them at all.

I think it hurts players like Murton. Not so much were he is hitting but that he seems to only start sporadically. Hits well when he does. Is complete garbage off the bench.

i don't know if it hurts an individual's performance or not, but i would like to see tham put together a consistant lineup. i think we've seen enough to know who is likely best suited for what. if they insist on playing Jones to boost his trade value and/or give Pie more time in the minors, than stick him in CF and leave him alone (except maybe resting him against LHP). put Theriot at SS already, put him in the 2-spot and lets move forward.

It's not necessarily a bad idea as long as things aren't going well.

The biggest problem I see is that Lou is in a chess game and Hendry has taken away some of his pieces or not given him the right pieces. He can move them around the board as much as he wants but at the end of the game he still doesn't have the right pieces in position to win becuase they were never there to begin with.

How is that for a metaphore?
