Haha. Yikes, that's a scary lineup for the Cubs. I'll still be listening in to see how Prior, Wood, and Lilly do.

Did anyone else see the front page article on the cubs.com site that says you can watch the game on mlb.tv? I didn't think this game was going to be available on mlb.tv but if it actually is I am definitely going to have to skip class to watch it.

Theriot apparently has caught the Rich Hill bug. Slight lineup change:

Cedeno, SS

Pagan, CF

Murton, LF

Ward, DH

Barrett, C

DeRosa, 2B

Coats, RF

Kinkade, 1B

Perez (not Neifi), 3B

Wow. I didn't think the 1st lineup could get worse. I was very, very wrong.

Any Cubs lineup where Murton is the best candidate for the 3 hitter is going to be pretty scary.

I think this lineup means the cuts are around the corner. Lou wants to get his final looks and also give these kids some playing time before they leave.

IIRC, I read last week that first cuts would come around the 10th.

This Suntimes burb confirms it

Saturday: The first major cuts are expected after Friday's split-squad games against Texas and San Diego

For those of you that will watch, please post velocity numbers of our pitchers. Too bad this game isn't the one on TV.

I don't know if that's true, even though it's listed on the media guide. I've seen it there before only to see it disappear right before gametime. I wouldn't be surprised if MLB, knowing this is a Wood/Prior game, is playing bait and switch to pump up the subscriptions. I'm already a member so I will definitely be checking into it... I see MLB.com has Prior and Wood on their front page.

Yeah even though its spring training i think this is important too. Im more interested in priors than wood but im still curious about wood.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. This could be a bait and switch deal. If anyone wants to buy it they can wait until I see if there's really video...

mlb.tv is $90? Yikes.

That's the standard. Premium is a little more but there is a monthly payment option and, I think they are running a special offseason package (hmmm, actually, that might have expired right before the start of Spring Training).

MLB.com has just been remarkably, pathetically bad at letting subscribers & potential subscribers know what the heck is going on. You have to scrounge around to find a broadcast schedule and even then you can't be certain that the schedule is accurate.

I think it would be pretty odd for them to pull a bait and switch with this spring training game. How many people could they possibly sucker in? 20, 50, 100? The total number of MLBTV subscribers is pretty low, which means the number of Cubs fans are pretty low, and the number willing to sign up on any given day all that much lower. I wouldn't put it past MLB, given their "screw the fan" mentality. But there just isn't any realistic benefit.
