Just got the autopick results of my first ever Y! public team (5x5, H2H league). Ended up with 11th pick (out of 12). Unfortunately, Santana didn't fall to me...

I've never done a 5x5 league, I've only played in modified leagues (giving more weight to OBP and SLG and less to SB). I'm generally happy with my offense. I think it's balanced, but I don't really know since I've never played in this type of league. I don't really like my P at all. I feel like I should deal Young (or one of my 3 SS) for better SP. Once the season gets underway and it's clear who will be closing for some teams, I'll add another closer.

Appreciate any thoughts and/or advice.

I'd definitely trade either Ramirez or Young; I'm surprised you got two shortstops that close together. I'd keep Lugo because his eligibility at other positions makes him quite valuable as a fill-in on off-days or for injuries.

That's why I hate auto-pick. I'd never have taken Young 1 round after having taken Ramirez (esp since I hadn't taken a pitcher yet).

I'll probably deal Young since I think I need Ramirez's steals.

I would pair wright, young, and one of your starts and get a lower tier 3b who isnt a huge downgrade from wright, a great starting pitcher and a good OF. You have good depth in the OF, but need a top hitter there. But of course that all depends on the needs of your competitors.

Well, with a couple trades, I turned my lineup into this:

McCann - C

Teixeira - 1B

Lugo - 2B

HRam - SS

Wright - 3B

Drew - OF

Swisher - OF

Hawpe - OF

Kendrick - UTIL

Alex Gordon - BENCH

Burke - BENCH

Webb - SP

Haren - SP

Ryan - RP

Wagner - RP

Sheets - SP

Olsen - SP

Pettitte - SP

Gonzalez - RP

Torres - RP

Adding Webb gave me an ace and Wagner and Ryan should be a solid pair of closers. I'll probably only keep 1 of Gonzalez or Torres, depending on if Gonzalez wins the closer job in Atlanta and if either is effective. I'm still shopping Wright and Pettitte for a better pitcher and slightly worse 3B. I hated to give up Rios, but I think Drew could be primed for a big year in Boston. If I can get 1 more quality SP, I'd be thrilled with my team.
