Philly Hotels

I'll be in Philly for two of the Cubs games there. Can anyone recommend an affordable hotel that is close to public transportation?

Close to public transportation is easy- anything downtown near Broad Street is a short subway ride to Citizens Park (Broad St. Line). I've had friends stay at the Marriott near city hall and at the Wyndam. Both are nice hotels, but like most downtown hotels, will run in the $150-250 a night range.

 

Affordable is more of a challenge. If you're really looking to save money there's a Holiday Inn a short walk from the park (Packer Avenue, I think). I've never been in the place, but it looks like most any Holiday Inn.

 

Chickie and Pete's (just west of the park) is a fun stop before the game. Citizen's is no Wrigley, but it's a nice park.
