Would Payton be a decent CF?

Payton is 34, has never been good at getting on base, cannot hit right handed pitching, and isn't anything special defensively in CF. I'd much rather play Pie.

He's OK. Basically all-around average. Not real good at anything. I think the Cubs want a lefty for CF though. Plus, I would much rather have Jones out there than Payton. Why get Payton when you have Jones. If they get a CF it should be an upgrade not a downgrade.

Payton is Juan Pierre with a little less OBP, slightly better SLG, and less speed. I wouldn't want him.

exactly. and who doesn't run out double play grounders etc. let me put it this way, he makes ramirez look like pete rose.

eh hes not very good but it wouldnt be terrible.
