Foulke Opts for Free Agency

Keith Foulke has opted out of the last year of his contract.

Foulke has declined a $3.75 million option to remain with the team next season and has instead elected free agency. Agent Dan Horwits, who represents Foulke, confirmed the pitcher’s decision to the Herald a short time ago.

Foulke had a 4.35 era last year and I honestly don't believe he will be making close to 4mil so it's surprising he declined it.

Some have speculated that he just wanted out of Boston.
