Hi folks...

Well, Tennessee Smokies President Doug Kirchhofer has invited me to breakfast or lunch with him next week to discuss NSBB and the advantages of a partnership. Therefore, I need Tim and others to advise me on what you would like presented to him. I haven't replied yet with a schedule, so the sooner you could get into contact with me, the better. Thanks, and here's to a great relationship between NSBB and the Tennessee Smokies.

Greetings and I echo the appreciation. I swapped messages with Tom Hart a week ago and he agreed to do a Q & A with the site. Hopefully he will be able to get a chance to register on the site as well.

I cannot speak on behalf of Tim but it would be great to have access to the players in the form of a site credential. I have some word documents on file that we've used in the past that I could forward.

I'm completely swamped with my day job for at least the next two weeks. If you could work with DJaxx, who knows what is needed pretty well, it would be great.

Let's chat about all that you would like to see happen. I am replying to his email asking specifics about what he would like for me to present to him.

As I mentioned earlier, a great start is gaining a credential for the site. Access to the players means more exposure to the organization. It would also be great to see if some of the front office people would be willing to participate in question and answer sessions as well. With that being said, here's a quick list:

1) Media Credential

2) Placement on any e-mail media releases to be posted on the site

3) Q & A sessions with various people in the organization (GM, Team President, etc.)

Tom Hart has already agreed to do a Q & A session. He also said that he plans to register on the site. I know that he and Nathan Baliva have communicated in the past. I am also sure that Ron would put in a good word on the site if Tom asked him about it.

Last year, we did sponsor the Northsidebaseball.com Farm Report with the Jaxx. The segment ran in all of the pregame broadcasts during the season. Granted, the sponsorship was as much of a thank you to the Jaxx and an attempt to help the organization than anything else. Tim would ultimately be the person to handle any sponsorships. I am sure their site has sponsorship information.

Anything else would be entirely up to the organization. The Jaxx were great in that they allowed people from the site to the broadcast booth over the past 2 seasons, with a full broadcast in 2005 through the auction and 3 appearances in the booth for 2006.

I am sure that their organization may have other ideas in regards to how the site and Smokies can build a relationship with one another. I know they have a great group of people in the organization and I look forward to being able to work with them in the future. I'll drop you a PM with my cellular number. Feel free to give me a call when you get a chance.

Thanks for your effort!

Breakfast with Doug is hopefully on the docket for Monday of next week. This is a copy of the email he sent me. Sounds great.

Eric,

Don't be concerned about about needing too much stuff. I am sure we can provide Northside Baseball the credentials and access needed to continue providing fans the quality information they have an interest in. This can be a low key situaiton. Don't worry about needing to "sell" us on the concept - we're on the same page here already.

Look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

Doug Kirchhofer

I am so excited about the partnership that NSBB and the Smokies are about to embark upon. Before the 2 year runs of the Cardinals and Diamondbacks affiliations, the Smokies had a 20+ year affiliation with the Blue Jays. Here's hoping that he Cubs and Smokies match that!

Hello all...

Just returned from breakfast with Doug Kirchhofer, and I have to say that I am extremely grateful for his attitude toward developing a partnership between the Smokies and the website. I guess that I need to work more with DJaxx and Tim on making things official, but the process is moving in a positive direction for all parties.

Eric
