The Tigers beat the Yankees,

I think that's really great-

Once again 'ol A-Rod,

struggled "close & late"

There' only one solution,

to get the Yanks back in the game-

trade him to the Cubbies,

for a player-to-be-named.

I really like the Tigers,

my other favorite team-

they just beat the Yankees,

man it's like a dream.

Seeing all the players,

rejoicing with the fans-

makes me wish I was there,

partying in the stands.

Dempster is our closer

He scares me half to death

When he comes in the ballgame

I have to hold my breath

He ain't no Mariano

But keep one thing in mind

You can't blow a save

When you're way behind

Jim Hendry hurts my feelings

Every time he speaks

All manner of nonsense

From his mouth it leaks

Sadly, he's discovered

He likes ball-catching guys

And the myth that is clutch hitting

Puts a twinkle in his eyes

I am a hothead

I love to start a fight

I'm a good player

But clearly not that bright

Look at me crossways

And you're likely to wear it

Yes, you guessed it

My name is Michael Barrett

The Cubs hired Lou Piniella-

he likes to yell at umps.

Maybe he'll raise the Cubbies-

outta the N L dumps.

I hope he's not another-

old-school baseball man,

who knows less about OBP,

than the average fan.

Oh I am excited

Now we have sweet Lou,

I can't wait to see him lose his cool,

you know you'll love it too,

He'll put some fire in the players,

They'll play hard like they've got gas,

and IF a player slouches,

he'll throw them on their ass!

Will they bring back Larry,

to be the pitching coach-

Or is it time to move on,

'fore Z's arm turns to toast?

I don't know why I'm worried,

Z's stronger than dog's breath.

No one could really hurt him-

not even Tyson at his best.

Larry will be back I'm affraid,

for my pitchers arms,

he might hurt the pitchers

he'll ignore all the alarms

But hopefully it was Dusty,

who ignored Rothchilds advice,

If that is the case,

then our pitching should suffice.

They say the payroll's higher,

maybe even one-fifteen-

as a cub fan I'm excited,

hopefully it will mean-

That next year will be "the year"-

no more suffering for die hards,

the Cubs will win the Series-

and we'll party like rock stars.

Oh god we're stuck with Piniella,

With 3-stinking years,

At least Hendry may be leaving,

To go promote some beers.

Why didnt we get Girardi?

Was Hendry on Bacardi?

I hope he gets dropped-kicked

by someone by the name of Jeff Hardy.
