Baseball Prospectus Internships

It's that time of year again: Baseball Prospectus is looking for interns for the 2006-07 school year.

Interns should be self-motivated, efficient, and currently enrolled in a university or advanced degree program. Priority is given to intern candidates who would receive course credit for their participation with BP, but this is not required. BP internships are unpaid, but many former BP interns have gone on to work in the baseball industry, or to join the Baseball Prospectus staff.

We are looking for interns in the following categories:

Marketing (MBA candidate preferred)

Public Relations (MBA or advanced degree candidate preferred)

Editorial Assistant

Database Infrastructure (knowledge of Oracle recommended)

Web Elements and Design

If you are interested in an internship, please submit the following materials to Nate Silver [nsilver@baseballprospectus.com] by Monday, September 18th:

A resume;

A personal statement of approximately 500 words, OR an original piece of baseball research of not shorter than 800 words;

Candidates for the Web Elements and Design internship are encouraged to submit a portfolio;

All applicants MUST include the phrase "INTERNSHIP APPLICATION" in the subject header of their e-mail;

All applicants MUST indicate the position or positions that they are applying for. Generally, Baseball Prospectus receives fewer applications in the technical categories (Database Infrastructure, Web Elements), so qualified applicants in these areas are especially encouraged.

Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, we regret that we will not be able to respond to all applicants individually.
