I'd like to think I played a role in these teams making it :D

Hopefully Manny, Peavy, Corey, and Nomah step it up for you guys.

Well Im toast but it was a good run. To many injuries. Pitching injuries have really been tough recently. Billingsley, Kazmir, and Schilling. Losing Chipper Jones and Jim Edmonds doesnt help either. Oh well! I learned alot and Im set up rather well for next year with my young pitchers and position players.

If you have a week like this past week, then I have no chance. Webb is really kicking some CY arsh...

Hopefully, Manny steps it up because the injury he has suffered lately has been hurting his performance...Peavy has been solid - good thing that our league does not count W or L.

You've topped that week a number of times this year.

Meanwhile, I'm in the playoffs without having been the points leader in any week the whole year.

BTW - watch out for me next year...

The way things are laid out right now, I'll only lose two position players -- Durham and Nomar. But I've got Weeks and Tulowitzki (and Brandon Wood) to fill those slots.

For pitchers, I'll be able to keep Webb, Lackey, Santana, Nolasco, James, Wainwright, Marmol, League & Garza. Adam Miller may well be my favorite for AL rookie of the year in 2007. Andrew Miller may be one year further off, but he may be up for the second half of next year.

For future seasons, we may need to look at a max number of keepers because I'm able to keep a pretty ridiculous number of players and stay under 1800 points. Of course, after 2007 Sizemore, Bay, Santana, Rios and others won't be points-exempt anymore. So it may just be a fluke that I was able to keep so many guys. I also nearly cost myself the playoffs by working the roster this way -- so it provides managers a tradeoff they have to decide upon.

I was set middle of the year but I had to make a run for the playoffs so I lost a lot of rookies and exempt players that are playing well this year - Baldelli, Wang, Saunders, Cano, Young and a slew of future stars like Wood, etc.

So if I don't win the championship then it would be costly...

I resisted the urge to make those trades and it probably cost me a realistic shot at winning the playoffs. But I was in a good position to make them and I figured it's pretty much a weighted crapshoot once you're in. The only trade I regret at this point where I went youngster for vet was Hanley for Nomar. But I balanced that out by trading a vet for a youngster at the same time (I think that was when I got Wood from you).

BTW - for having missed the draft, you did a hell of a job putting that team together. You get my vote for GM of the year.

Tim is it when a player reaches over three years of service time that they are not eligible for points exempt???

Btw, I like my chances next year with Kinsler, Sheets, Johan, Teixeira, Dunn (oh if i can keep Dunn...), Hanley, Delmon Young, Franceour, Milledge, Anibal, Wang, Kemp, and a nice minor league roster with some ml ready players.

Edit: 7th in points and third from last... That is some bad luck!

A player gets three seasons of exemption, starting from the season where he loses his minor league eligibility. If you have any questions on specific players, let me know and I'll answer them.

Yeah I will need mega help with who to keep as this is my fisrt keeper league and I have really no idea how it works.

Anywho, good luck Viney, I am sure that somehow I will choke it away

Eight starts in two days moves Roady back into the lead.

We've got to do something about that next year.

Picking up starters every single day?

That seems really, really bogus.

But within the rules, I guess.

Yes...but actually not thinking of it that way. The two starters dropped, Hernandez and Wolf were both two starts this week but both performed poorly in their first starts so I picked up a couple of "crusty" veterans for the playoff run.

Ah...that makes sense and is completely cool.

btw - I'd either be beating most teams or real close. I think I'm going to be losing to the best team this week. My only hope is that I'll out-start you 3-1 on Sunday.

Last chance...

If I get three big starts today, I have an outside chance. 35 points down with two extra starters going. If one of my starters can match Chris Young and the other two can post 17+ point starts, I can still pull this one out.

What worries me is that that's assuming that Nolasco is healthy enough to go long.

Padilla throwing a complete game shutout is about my last chance...

Dang! I'm going to have the second highest score for the week and lose.

Of course, that's what I get for being matched up with the #1 team in the first round. :(

I was worried with you going 3-1 on starters...let's hope my pitchers continue to carry me on to the finals because my hitters have been cold - Manny is out, Markakis has been cold so has Dye and I traded three guys lights out Young, Baldelli, and Cano.

I had it calculated out just about perfectly. If I keep Padilla's points as-is and then raise the other two to 17 each...I'd be leading by one point.

Oh well, great game this week. Good luck in the finals.
