Peoria: RHP Marco Carrillo (Mesa: 4-0, 1.73 ERA) vs. LHP David Asher (1-2, 4.03 ERA)

Boise: RHP Jose Ceda: (0-0, 9.00 ERA; overall: 2-0. 4.15 ERA) vs. RHP Jeremiah Haar (0-0, 3.00 ERA)

Mesa: RHP Chris Huseby (0-1, 5.65 ERA)

Carrillo (at Mesa); 41.2 IP, 34/10

Ceda (Boise, Mesa & AZL Peoria): 39 IP, 56/21

Huseby: 14.1 IP, 10/6

Marco Carrillo was called up from Mesa for the start - I guess now we'll get to see what type of stuff this 19-year old has! RHP Joel Santo went on the Peoria DL with a sore shoulder.

Aw nuts, I'm going to be busy with studying and school stuff for the rest of the day. :(

Nate (or anyone in attendance/listening to the game), if you could please post a report on Carrillo in terms of his stuff, build, and so on, I'd be quite thankful! :D

Already asked him in the stickied thread. :)

And don't forget, the Boise game is at home, so you can watch Ceda on video!

The I-Cubs and Jaxx are basically done. Boise is starting to build up its lead before the back-to-back series against second-place Tri-City.

Standings:

PCL American North
Nashville 74-64 .536 -
Iowa 71-67 .514 3.0 --- 6 games remaining

SL North
Huntsville 38-25 .603 -
Chattanooga* 35-30 .538 4.0 --- 5 games remaining
Tennessee 35-30 .538 4.0

If Chattanooga wins the SL North again, the Diamond Jaxx will make the playoffs.

FSL East
Palm Beach 34-27 .557 - --- 5 games remaining for all 3 teams
Daytona 35-28 .556 - ---
St. Lucie* 35-30 .528 1.0

Peoria already clinched a playoff spot by winning the MWL North in the first half.

NWL East
Boise 39-29 .574 - --- 8 games remaining (including 6 against Tri-City)
Tri-City 35-33 .515 4.0

*First-half division winner.

Chattanooga has five games remaining, but because they're against the Jaxx they could run the table. We just need for Huntsville to come back to Earth and lose their remaining games.

It's strange talking about the Jaxx helping their chances by losing.

The Jaxx have lost 8 in a row already, not sure how if they can lose 13 in a row.

If Pie can put together a nice string of 3-4 games here maybe he gets called up to the big show after sept. 4

He's probably going to get called up no matter what.

At first I was against calling up Pie this year.

After watching this last series vs. the Pirates.....I'd say do it.

just bus up the whole team...I'm sick of watching the current crap on

the field.

I agree with you! I was against calling him up for next year also, but now I'd rather see him struggle then watch these stiffs!

Much better outing for Huseby, a solo homer and then 4 punchouts in a 3 inning stint, may have a tired arm coming off the surgery, hopefully he gets stronger with each outing in the future.

Huh, didn't realize they had already started. I think Huseby's season is over, I doubt they bump him up to Boise.

3 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 4 K, HR. Not bad, imo, especially after the last two outings.

Carrillo's night is over in Peoria and his final line is in my previous post.

Ceda with a 1-2-3 first inning, got a K along the way. Oooo, listen in to tomorrow's Hawks pre-game show - Oneri Fleita was interviewed (it was done today, but due to technical difficulties, they couldn't air it).

Iowa up 3-1 in the 5th, EPatt went 2 for 2 with a BB.

Mesa's offense is again being no-hit, so far through 6. They're down 2-0.

Thanks to a strong wind blowing in, Tyler Colvin is robbed of a HR to deep LF. Woulda been gone on a normal day. By the way, that wind is going to help get wind chills in the 40s towards the end of the Boise game.
