Forgot to mention but just received call from Sean..... He is at the doctor's having his foot checked. Apparently in the 7th inning of yesterdays game had a ball hit off his foot.... Hopefully everything is fine and its just a bruise but will let you know....

I heard that and was going to post about it at the time. It was the last play of that inning. The ball was hit off his foot hard enough that it riccocheted to Sing at 1B. Hope he's ok!

He was also nailed with a line drive off his thigh in Jacksonville; he'll have quite the baseball-sized bruise collection.

Gallagher at #6 on BA's prospect hot list

6. Sean Gallagher, rhp, Double-A West Tenn (Cubs)

Gallagher keeps living the good life for the Diamond Jaxx, striking out 23 and giving up just two runs in his last 19 innings over three starts. He's an impressive 11-3, 2.37 overall despite his 71 walks in 152 innings, but who's he got to blame for that?

Fox if catcher were a primarily offensive position, Fox would be in line for a big league look soon. He's hitting .370 in August and .296/.354/.526 overall, with 21 homers in 399 at-bats. He can throw some as well but has 20 passed balls and still needs defensive polish, but he can hit.

Congrats to both...... :D

I went ahead and merged the two update threads. Congrats to both -- neat to have a battery mentioned at the same time!

Ron interviewed Sean on the pre-game show and Sean insists he won't miss a start.

Does Fox project to be a Barrett type catcher? Good SLG catcher with a good AVG, but will have defensive issues from time to time? Does he have a good enough bat to be a major league outfielder?

At this point, his defense is worse than Barrett's. 20 passed balls is awful.

I know there are many factors at play with PBs ... Robinson did have 16 with Lakeland despite getting designated the best defensive catcher in the Tigers minor league org. How does that compare in high-A?

You have alot more pitchers in the minors with control issues than in the majors too...alot more wild pitches and pitches in the dirt. Still, it's not good, but I don't think it's as bad as it initially sounds...
