He still has time to improve being that he is so young, but it looks like Pie will always be a players whose OBP will always be heavily tied to his BA. With enough time he could figure that out, but the Cubs won't see that as a problem so will be more likely to rush him. I think he will end up being a very good player, but I get the feeling he will never be that "Franchise Player". I am certainly not giving up on him, but I see him being more of a Aramis Ramirez/Michael Barrett(somewhere between the two) than a D-Lee in terms of being a player to build around.

Prove me wrong Felix.

I like his potential and everything, but I feel like this is the wrong organization for him to truly become the Carlos Beltran-like player we've been dreaming of since he exploded onto the scene a number of years ago.

It's weird. I've been looking at the BB rates and IsoD numbers of a lot of the highly-touted position prospects in this organization. With a lot of the guys, there has not been much of a deviation year-in, year-out when it comes to their walk rates. While it's positive that they are able to keep up a stable rate as they ascend through the minors, it's also worrisome to see a number of guys in this organization who have their offensively value based so heavily on their batting average.

It's really hard to predict a guy's offensive success in the majors based on his batting average. At least things such as IsoD, Secondary Averages, and so on give better indicators than AVG, RBIs, and K rates, you know?

For that reason, I worry about guys like Ryan Harvey, Brian Dopirak, Mark Reed, Ryan Norwood, Yusuf Carter, Russ Canzler, and so on. They will continue to face more advanced pitching as they move through the minors, but their plate discipline seems quite worrisome based on those numbers.

Pie's managed to make it this far and could still improve. However, I'm skeptical given this organization's track record.

I am ready to give up on Harvey........Dubois??? Does anyone feel that 1 more year in AAA would be the best route for felix?? he has got this far relatively quickly and i still feel he will be the cubs CF for many years.

I'd like a stop-gap solution for at most 1 year in CF and give 'Lix another year. I think he might be getting a little hot right now and a September callup might be good for him as well. The good news is, even if he's unable to take over the CF job until after next year, he's still only twenty three years old on opening day 08.

I said before the season that he should have started this season at AA. He only played a couple of months at that level last season, and then he was injured. Of course he needs another year at AAA. How could one promote him to the majors based upon this year's performance?
