I guess defense isnt important.

It's only caused 3 out of the 4 runs today..all 4 if you think Gonzalez should have been able to throw Pagan out. Really though, I think Cedeno was just nervous on that play-he probably is feeling a little out of sorts the last couple days trying to learn a new position-even going back to your old position can still have you a little jumpy-great barehand Mateo!

Mateo taking fielding lessons from Big Z.

Makes me sad to hear Kerry talk about the rehab process; I'd love to see him back pitching successfully again.

http://www.kerrywoodstrikezone.com is the site for Kerry's fundraiser. Stuff that will go on auction: Greg Maddux's signed sand wedge, signed home plate from Wrigley, full set of Barrett's catcher's gear, old drinking fountain from the clubhouse signed by the whole team and a ton more. I've seen that same Disney Land+Cubs ad about 100 times in the past 3 year, has anyone ever gone?

Anyone else find it interesting that Kerry said fans have the right to get on him? He knows he's been a popular player and not gotten the patterson/hawkins treatment. Just my impression that he really wants to come back and stay in Chicago and would take an incentive-laden deal. I think he has enough pride to want to prove to the Cubs and it's fans that he still has it.

Just seeing him makes me want him to come back.

I think he'll do whatever it takes to stay a Cub. He wants to stay in Chicago and he wants to stay in the NL. He's real down to earth and a smart guy, he'll do what it takes to get a deal done and stay here.

I got the same feeling. I think he geniunely loves Chicago and the Cubs fans. I think he might have th efeeling of leeting the fans down big time. I hope he gets 100% healthy before he even decides to throw competitively again. Hopefully Hendry gives him a fair deal and Wood comes back to be the pitcher we all believe he can be.

Green with a walk to lead of the inning. I think Mateo got squeezed a bit there.

There were some pretty good pitches in that sequence.
