Phil Nevin conversion on Izturis

I went to Monday and Tuesdays games this week and after Tuesdays game, we ran into Phil Nevin. He was a very nice guy with a beautiful girlfriend!! He was a bit frusterated with his lack of playing time, but all in all seemed to be appropriate with all of his comments.

 

The one thing that I really wanted to metion was all of the great things he said about Ceasar Izturis. This was the one topic where he became adimit--he said this guy is an absolute stud!! The people are going to love him. I think it was a great move. I just found it real interesting that a big basher guy like Phil would be so overly excited about a middle infielder like Izturis, but he really was........so I must admit, that really got me excited about the Izturis signing as well--I guess only time will tell.

 

Anyways, Phil was a great guy and I hope he can find a place to play soon!

Baseball players buy into the same macho mumbo jumbo that old school baseball men preach to the masses about defense. It doesn't surprise me at all that a player would be in love with a guy who has a great reputation defensively.
