Trade Analysis

I just traded my first round draft pick in this winters Prospect draft for David Dejesus.

 

My reasoning behind it is, this years draft pool doesnt look quite as exciting as the past two years, and I dont want to rely on torii hunter alone to be my center fielder.

 

So anyways, What do you guys think of the trade?

 

(oh, and i'm in last place so i'd probably end up with the first overall pick. )

Seems like a rather high draft pick for him IMO. Since the Royals traded for Gathright, Dejesus has been playing in LF. I'm not sure what the positional eligibility rules are, but at this point I'd be rather worried that he loses his CF eligibility.

He has 39 games played at CF and 29 in LF. He will qualify at both positions next year. I was also offered Felipe Lopez and Adam Wainwright or Aaron Heilman for him so you could swing him that way and get a good young solid SS and solid reliever/future starter. Hitting in front of Mark Teahan, Billy Butler, and Alex Gordon in the future should make him a top leadoff hitter in the game.
