Walker and Maddux both had nothing but kind words to say about their (now) former team mates and the Cubs organization as a whole.

I am not exactly 100% pleased with what has went down.. but I am happy for these two kind genlemen and wish them both the best.

I'd have nothing but kind words too if my baseball-[expletive] GM got me out of this hellwhole known as the Chicago Cubs organization. I'd be jumping for dollars.

They get to win now, and not have a total idiot running the team, and a total idiot managing the team.

stop being an A** because I am sure if you were making that kind of money and were a member of a struggling team... weather it be the Cubs or even the Royals... you would want to help them turn it around, just as these two said they wanted to do.

Just please watch the language (and we can all take a hint from the thread title).

It's sad to see them go like this. Both were classy guys during their time here. Walker had some issues with the front office and management, but he was always respectful and friendly with the fans. Despite spending his prime in Atlanta, it was nice to see Maddux get one last shot with the Cubs in an attempt to make it back to the playoffs.

Things didn't exactly go as planned, but I will always fondly remember both.

It's too bad they are going to be seeing each other often for the remainder of the season... competing for the number 1 division spot. Why couldn't the Dodgers take Walker as well? Have Nomar, Walker, and Maddux all on the same team, that'd be nice, no?

Dude I'm one of the biggest Todd Walker backers on this board. I'm GLAD he's going somewhere he can win.

I think Maddux epitomizes all class. Once again I'm GLAD he's going somewhere he can win.

I'm just frustrated with this front office and managment.
