Turnbow is killing the Brewers lately and they really have no one w/in the organization to fill the closer spot.

Any ideas on who the Cubs could get back in return?

Would Corey Hart be out of the question? How about Mark Rogers, Ben Hendrickson, or Hernan Iribarren?

Or dare I say Fielder, Hardy, or Weeks..............

Nobody. Teams DON'T usually TRADE for pitchers like Dempster already SIGN an extension. My guess is Milwaukee would be more interested in Scott Williamson then Dempster. And Corey Hart would be about right.

not only that..... but teams dont usually trade in the divison for pitching during a pennate race.

You see, normally that would apply, but considering the fact that Cubs are out of it, and the Brewers are still in it, it would be a mistake if Hendry doesn't consider moving Williamsnon/Dempster even to a division rival, if the trade helps you long-term. I remember the Cubs moving Tom Gordon to the Astros and Jeff Fassero (lol hahaha at that trade) to the Cardinals. So, it's not out of the realm.

Who is El Horso? If it's Carlos Lee, why would the Cubs want to trade for a guy who is a FA at the end of the year?

Could Dempster and Williamson get us el horso??
Probably not considering he is a big part of their offense.. and they are still in the wild card race.

I wouldn't say teams DON'T. It's unusual, but it happens. Dempster's extension really doesn't matter much to me and I would think it would get MORE from the Brew Crew because they know it's not a rental.

If Dempster was Mariano Riveria I wouldn't trade him in the division, but we're talking about Dempster. I've never been wild about him. I know, I know he has done the job............... He's one of a long list of Cubs closers that have got the job done, but given me ulsers in the process. See Rod Beck as well.

Besides, like any trade..... depending on what's offered you can make the trade anyway.

Trade Demp, and work out an agreement w/ Wood to come back next year as a closer. I think he'd be great at it.
