can someone give me a good scouting report on this guy? What does he top out at? Does he throw comfortably in the mid 90's through out a game? What kind of break is his slider? How does his windup go?

I think the kid is the real deal myself. Just want some info on him.

video would help me out as well.

thanks!

From what I've heard, his FB jumped up a few notches and is consistently in the 90-94 range. He has been recorded at 95 a few times in the SL, and supposedly hit 101 at one of his FSL starts (that gun probably isn't that reliable). He has two types of curves, one is a plus curve (a big league out pitch) while the other is loopy and probably not gonna do much in the big leagues. His slider is average to plus, depending on which scout you talk to and his changeup has improved a lot this season. He supposedly is working on a cutter too.

Can't answer your other questions because I've never seen video of him.

You might want to post your questions in the Ron Potesta Q & A thread. Ron sees him more than any of us do, so he'd probably be able to answer your questions better than most of us.

Why do you think he's the real deal? Just wondering what about him strikes you as making him a more solid prospect than other similar minor league pitchers...

I hope he makes it up and has some good success with us, but I'm not willing to put that kind of claim on him just yet.

DerekJetersAura (Tx): Is there any chance that Sean Gallagher can develop into a front of the rotation starter instad of middle of a rotation. With his fastball in the low 90s he sounds and awful like Darryl Kile and Chris Carpenter.

Kevin Goldstein: Middle-of-the-rotation starter is anything but an insult. It's very high regard. Think of how many big league teams have a No. 3 starter as their best pitcher in the rotation. The thing with Gallagher is that his stuff took a major step forward this year. The curve was always good, but he gained 3-5 mph on his fastball, which is pretty uncommon for a 20-year-old.
