In an interview about the ASG, Big Z just said "Hopefully, I can participate in the Home Run Derby", I bet he meant it too.

Don't do it Z, although, that may not nessecarily be a bad thing. He wouldn't have to run the risk of Dusty damaging his arm.

Dusty did his damndest best to try to destroy Z's arm by bringing him out to pitch the 7th after he complained of having knee pain.

 

If I were conspiratorial in nature, I'd accuse Dusty of being some kind of anti-Cub cyborg sent back in time in order to destroy the arms of the Cubs' young pitching prodigies. He's done his best so far (Kerry Wood, perhaps Mark Prior); but Carlos Zambrano still seems to be beyond his grasp.

I really didn't like the plate appearance he had in the fifth (I think it was the fifth). He struck out, taking three big swings during the at-bat. Each time he was hacking away and putting a lot of torque on his back. Not necessary.
