Just because it's true doesn't make it funny. I like Bruce's articles as much as everyone, but it seems that people are going to extremes to worship the guy.

Yeah, and it's really going to my head.

Just looking out for you. Not trying to rain on the Bruce Miles fan club

No problem, Derwood. Actually, I wasn't trying to be funny there. I was just trying to point out an essential truth about Chicago Cubs baseball. And nope, no anal pun intended there.

I know you weren't, that was why I questioned it being quoted (by the original poster) in the first place. Keep fighting the good fight

boy - you would have thought there is no sarcasm anywhere on this board anymore. Bruce - I know that you were not trying to be funny, but stating the fact. The reason why I thought it was funny is that it is so obvious to all of us that do "honor" the OBP as a real statistic while other people (who make out lineups) do not see the importance of having guys in the #2 spot with higher OBP.

that is all - sorry if you did not find it a bit humerous. I did and I guess I have a funny sense of humor then...

Funny haha, or funny queer?

haha, haha, haha, haha, haha, haha - do you get the point???????

Bruce, is it true that Angel Guzman fell down a well sometime last week and hasn't been available to pitch? Or is Hendry still looking for another top pitching prospect to replace him and waste away in long relief?

I didn't phrase it quite that way this morning, but I did ask about it. Got a long, "blah, blah, blah" answer. The kid needs to pitch _ somewhere.

What are we on, day 13 of his rest period? 11 games off? Gotta love the 7 man bullpen.

Today will be the 12th game off, I believe, and 13th day. I'm glad they think Angel has fully recovered, is in mid-season shape, and can afford to do nothing but twiddle his thumbs.

Thanks, Bruce. I thought I saw Guzman in a dugout shot, but I thought it could've just been a cheap cardboard cutout. I guess this is the price that young talent has to pay when the big league club is in a pennant race.
