I did not participate on the live draft so I had work to do to make my team better. This is a keeper league where you can keep active players to a max of 1800 points and minor leaguers have to be minor leaguers (less than 90 I pitched and 130 ABs). Active players with 3 years or less after qualifying are except from the 1800 points max. There are 14 teams. I am currently tied for first but I have made soooo many trades and used the free agent market excessively that my team does not resemble the team from week#1.

I need some evaluation help for this year and the future - need more trades to shore up areas or made too much trade that weakened the present and/or the future. I like the team make-up but need some outside opinions.

Here are the trades made:

1. Gary Sheffield for Magglio Ordonez and Scot Shields

2. Bob Wickman for Khalil Greene (Greene waived)

3. Brian Giles for Jeremy Hermida and Brandon Wood

4. Jim Thome for Delmon Young, Gio Gonzalez, and Chris Young

5. Jon Garland, Magglio Ordonez, and Kevin Youkilis for Kelly Shoppach, CC Sabathia, Yusmeiro Petit, and Melvin Mora (Shoppach waived; this is the one I regretted the most)

6. Manny Ramirez and Jose Velarde for Huston Street, BJ Upton, and Rich Harden (hopefully Harden comes back strong because this would be lopsided if he doesn't)

7. John Lackey, Russell Martin, and Alex Rios for John Patterson, Garrett Atkins, and Justin Morneau (this might be tough to swallow because Rios and Martin will be good)

8. Livian Hernandez and Akinori Otsuka for Brad Hawpe (hopefully Hawpe does not flame out next year)

9. Chien-Ming Wang for Rocco Baldelli (this one could be regretted because Wang will be good for awhile and Baldelli is injury prone)

10. Ken Griffey and Gio Gonzalez for Lastings Millege and Joel Guzman

Fire away!!!!

Go for it this year. Trade some of your minor leaguers for better pitching.

With such a shortage of exempt players on your roster, a Brandon Wood and Delmon Young package to a bottom feeder team might net a couple of good starting pitchers to win your league.

Next year, your roster will be depleted because of the low cap and scarcity of exempt players. You will also get a poor draft slot.

I say go for the gusto and win your league this year. Then rebuild.

Thanks for responding BBB. I was thinking of trying to find a #1 SP (since I clearly do not have one) for the prospects. I just have to find the trading partner.
