I live about an hour away from the Smokies home field and was thinking about going down to watch next Sat. and Sun. games. I was hoping that somebody could tell me who might be pitching and besides E-patt are some of the position players I should be on the look out for. Thanks in advance.

not sure who will be pitching then but hopefully you will get to see wells, shaver and gallagher starting. other than ep, scott moore (3b) brian dopirak (1b) & miguel negron (cf) are the guys i would look out for. there are a few guys in the pen that have been lights out all year in AA too including rocky cherry, clay rapada, juan mateo & carlos vasquez. atlee was great too but was promoted to iowa. if you are really lucky, maybe the cubs will have promoted jake fox from daytona by then. he's a catcher who's hitting .313 with 16 hr's & an obps of .957.

If you live that close you need to actually do it, not just "think about" it. :D

 

I'm in a similar situation. I live about an hour from the Carolina Mudcats' stadium, so whenever the Djaxx play there I always try to go to at least one game in the series (frequently more than that). Unfortunately, this year they only play one series at Carolina (five games in August). Last year they had three series at Carolina. I don't know why there are two fewer series this year than last (especially since they're in the same division).

It'll be interesting to see what roster moves take place between now and next weekend. We know that Piggy will be coming off the DL at the start of the second half of the season. In addition, it has been mentioned that Wells and Rapada could be going to AAA as soon as tomorrow.

 

If you get a chance, make it a point to talk to Pat Listach if at all possible. Pat is a great manager and is a great person to talk to.
