6/16 CWS Geogria Tech vs. Clemson (ESPN @1:00PM CT)

I didn't see anything else for the game so far so I've decided to start one. The game has gotten off to a quick start so far; only 1 out in the top of the 1st and GT is up 3-0 via some bad defense by Clemson and a HR for GT.

Smith came up with 1 on, 2 out. Swung at the first pitch and skied a ball into shallow left CF. Colvin up now.

Colvin hit a hard grounder up the middle for a single and advances the runner to 3rd. The hit came on a beautiful curveball by the pitcher, he started to buckle a little bit but still hit the ball hard.

Luke Murton looks completely different than Matt, but he's been more impressive so far. 2-2 with 2 singles in the game, and he's only a true freshman. Edited June 16, 2006 by texascub

Smith just got eaten up by a grounder but he was able to pick it up and still gun out Trapanni.

I know it isn't a good thing to do, but I think after the called strike that probably never crossed his shins he got upset and it carried through the AB. You could see him mouthing to the umpire during the rest of the AB and even more so on his way back to the dugout.

Colvin flied out to the warning track in the 6th...missed Smith's AB but he was out as well on whatever he did.

when he took it out of the bucket, he slurred a couple of words and just stoped talking and looked off camera for a couple of seconds and played with his nose.

He really took a rounded route from 1st to 3rd.
