I can't believe this bum still has a job. He was horrible in both 2003 and 2004, and then had a fluke ERA under 4.00 last year despite an awful WHIP and a bad strikeout rate. Apparently as a middle reliever, all you need is a pulse to hang around on a low- to mid-salary team.

if you're left handed, you can be clinically dead and have a roster spot on even a high salary team. Just look at Rusch. He's been dead for 8 months now.

Norm Charlton and Jeff Fassero are the posterboys for this phenomenon.

Mike Stanton is getting there. Terry Mulholland and Mike Remilnger's applications are being processed.

By the way, I love that three of the eight position players in tonight's lineups - regular starters, mind you - still have single digit walk totals. That's 50 games into the season. Boy, I can't figure out why the offense sucks!

Seriously, why is Bynum on this team? Does Hendry not want to look TOO bad for shipping a starting left-handed pitcher for nothing?

Vernon Wells line tonight as the Jays beat the RSox 8-5:

3-4

3 hr's

4 rbi

3 runs

1 bb

Not too shabby

That whole team can rake. Rios is breaking out this year, Glaus has lots of pop, Catalanotto, Overbay and Hillenbrand are all good hitters for average... even Molina hits well for a catcher.
