If you don't watch a pro team to see them win, then what is the point of watching them?

Goony, I think you watch for more then just wins and losses. I would wager that you enjoy discussing the team, going to the ballpark, trying to figure out ways to make the team better, even rolling your eyes at Dusty. If not, you wouldn't be a fixture on the Cubs' Internet to the point that when I went to the ESPN board after a two year hiatus last year I asked, "Where's goony, beerhere, raw, u_of_kentucky, etc...." and got directed here.

I said, "only watch to see the team win." For pretty much anyone that posts here regularly they're clearly getting something from this team besides watching them win...and that holds true even when the team is hot.

Nope, I only watch them in hopes that they'll win. I get nothing else out of it. All the rest is just a form of venting all the disappointment.

Let's put it this way:

When you shell out your hard earned money at a high-priced restaurant, you deserve a high quality meal. If you get served a slice of fried baloney with a carrot stick, and get charged $35.00 for the "atmosphere" of the place, you're getting ripped off.

I'm tired of the fried baloney / carrot stick cubs! I want my Filet Mingon, doggonit!

If you know the menu before sitting down, it's your own fault for ordering.

Ok, then why are you still watching this year? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious for your POV...I mean, its a bit masochistic to watch these guys if you're only watching to see them win...

Well, call me what you will. I'm still watching in hopes that they'll win. I've turned off my fair share of games when the loss became inevitable.

Ok, fair enough.
