Today was Media Day at Pringles Park. After the session with the media, it was time to go to the field to meet the players. During the day, I was able to ask questions to the following:

Thomas Atlee

David Cash

Adam Greenberg

Micah Hoffpauir

Richard Lewis

Pat Listach

Eric Patterson

Clay Rapada

Randy Wells

Each of these men were nice enough to answer questions for a thread that will be posted in the coming days. The thread will focus on their personal goals for the 2006 season. Additional questions were asked as well. Each person named above has agreed to do a Q & A during the upcoming season. In addition, they agreed to take questions during the 2006 season as we strive to bring the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx to the fans at NSBB.

As you can see, not all of the players and coaches were able to be interviewed during the session. The remaining players/coaches will be met after the season opener.

A special thank you goes out to the Diamond Jaxx organization for their support of NSBB. I encourage everyone to make it a point to go to a Jaxx game if at all possible. In addition, be sure to listen to Ron Potesta, "The Voice of the Diamond Jaxx", this season as he brings exciting Jaxx baseball as well as the Chicago Cubs Farm Report presented by northsidebaseball.com in the pregame show. As always, thank you to all of you for making NSBB such a wonderful community!

I do not know how many viewers ever listen to other radio broadcasters other than your favorite team but I can tell you that there are not that many really good ones out there. Many of these positions are occupied by ex-ballplayers who know nothing about the art of being the eyes and ears of the listeners. Many minor league broadcasters who have spent their lives perfecting their skill behind the mike never get the chance to perform at the level that they deserve. That is the reason that I am salivating to listen to the Djaxx baseball games this year because they have a good one. I am sure other teams do, too, and we should give them the recognition that they deserve.
