I wanted to reinforce this rule:

In general, lineups have to be set weekly. Team managers do have the ability to change their lineup on a daily basis, but should only use this ability in the case of injury, trade or if one of their players gets promoted/demoted (in real life).

Everyone is responsible for policing their own games for lineup changes!

Note:

Cubbies75 and I have come to a deal with me sending him Jimmy Rollins and I receive Eric Chavez in return. The roster change for tomorrow will have this change reflected in my lineup.

No problem. This kind of change is fine.

Tim, does a player have to be formally put on the disabled list in order to make a transaction with a player perceived to be injured? Nomar didn't play today because of a rib strain, I'm just wondering if I'm able to make a sub for that...

I'd say that the player has to go on the DL, but I'm open to persuasion. Since we're a new league, this kind of thing can still be set.

My argument against it is that the door becomes pretty open to becoming a daily lineup change league as it gets hard to discriminate between when a player is out for injury or if he's just sitting.

Especially when Bonds starts taking days off to rest various ailing parts of his body...just as an example.

That second portion is my train of thought. You open up Pandora's box if you allow for "injuries" to include minor ailments that keep a guy sidelined for a day, thus rendering the weekly lineup changes moot.

Just thought I'd ask :D

Wait, you can't make lineup changes?

Im not crazy about this either, as I'd like to be able to sub reserves based on the better matchups on a day to day basis. Tim wants us to only make roster changes on this type of schedule:

Waivers will run on Sunday nights, so you have from the time games start on Sunday through 30 minutes before the first game time on Mondays to make changes. Players acquired through waivers will be available on Monday mornings. I may change this so that they're available on Sunday morning to make things easier.

Id rather be able to change rosters on the fly based on what matchups are

going to yield the best stats. Since the game allows this type of change its going to be aweful hard to keep tabs on who is making changes on a dailey basis. Tim are you going to be able to keep track of what roster changes are being made to all 14 teams? I had made a change with my 2 first basemen before I knew of this rule.

That seems awfully unfair to people who aren't able to make changes during that small window. Isn't part of fantasy sports to try and maximize your roster's abilities? Regular teams can change lineups on a whim.

Agreed why not just allow people to make changes when they can?

Today is still period 1. For those people who made lineup changes coming into today, if those lineup changes impact the outcomes of the games, they will be reversed. I understand that waivers ran last night and many people had extra players (myself included). But week 1 was a weekly lineup and so it isn't fair for some people to have made changes while others played by the rules.

Daily lineup changes begin with tomorrow's action.

Bummer. I think after I reverse the lineup changes of Attacking Aardsma, he'll edge me out this week. :(

Oh yeah, I'm not going to look through the results, so if your opponent won the game by changing his lineup, lmk.

I don't even recall the lineup changes I made?

chavez & Khalil out.

Oh, n/m. That was all the way last week. Silly me. In that case, we just need to wait for the bonus points to come out to see who won.
