You have to like this kid's attitude.

"I just want to do whatever I can to help the big team win a championship," he says. "That’s my whole goal.

"I want to play well, obviously. But I’m going out every day and not worrying about what’s going to happen tomorrow or where I’ll end up, because you never know where you’re going to be or what’s going to happen as I’ve found out throughout my career time and again."

The Cubs have not given Greenberg any indication of where he’s likely to wind up this year, and he says it wouldn’t affect his performance anyway. He’ll get some opportunities to play in the Cactus League this month, and a chance to prove his doubters wrong.

"If someone came up to me and said, ‘Hey, you’re on a big-league team,’ well, that’s great," he says. "But I’ve got to go out and earn everything day-in and day-out. Not just this year, but for the rest of my career."

Adam Greenberg is a class act, plain and simple. He's a good kid with a good work ethic and tons of determination. One of my favorite experiences last season was an afternoon batting practice session that Brandon Sing and Adam Greenberg had with Von Joshua. Not only did they have the desire to learn, they were willing to put forth the effort.
