Getting close to the time I need to submit keepers for my league, and I was looking for another set of opinions.

10-team mixed league, we get to keep six players from year to year. Offensively, we start four outfielders, a standard infield, catcher and one utility spot.

Categories are: OBP, R, RBI, SB, HR // Wins, ERA, WHIP, K, SV

I need to pick six from a potential pool of:

Manny Ramirez

Vladimir Guerrero

Miguel Tejada

Jason Bay

Carl Crawford

Pedro Martinez

Jake Peavy

Chris Carpenter

Felix Hernandez

Some are obvious, but I'm leaning toward Manny, Vlad, Bay, Crawford, Peavy and Pedro. But Felix is keeper gold -- I'd hate to let him get away and watch him rip apart the league for the next 15 years on someone else's team.

Any suggestions?

I'd probably lean towards Vlad, Manny, Bay, Crawford, Peavy and Felix Hernandez.

Id substitute Pedro for Bay personally.

Peavy and Pedro would win you the strikeout category barring injuries.

I agree. And I love JBay. You could still possibly pick him up in the draft if needed. Drop anyone else, and they could be gone, depending on when you pick.

Yeah ... by a lot.

I had a couple nice draft choices that I was able to sell high on (Lee, Willis, Glaus) and get more established players in return.

Vlad, Manny, Tejada, Peavy, Felix and one of your choice.

The first three may be getting on in years, but they're quite literally the best at their positions, and the same simply can't be said for Bay or Crawford. Peavy and Felix you simply have to keep, I don't think you have a choice in the matter. Whoever you pick sixth you can't really go that wrong with: I'd probably go with Pedro myself, but I'm not the biggest Bay or Crawford fan, and you could maybe justify Carpenter over all three of them.

A useful exercise is usually to try predicting who other people will keep, and who they won't, and see what you think will be available in the draft.
