Well, obviously, Pierre wouldn't get dumped anyways, so thats a non issue, wishful thinking or not.

 

I would do this trade as it would be a boost to the Cubs lackluster offense. Suddenly, we have someone to hit lefties for Jones, making that signing look better as he is an above average hitter against righties. And, we have Murton insurance now as well, as I don't think he has proven himself beyond a doubt that he can be an everyday player in the majors. A hitter like Michaels could be a make or break type addition for this team. I cannot say the same for Ohman.

Really though, If Michaels can keep his .380 Career OBP (he put up a .399 last year..) he would be better than pierre. Pierre has never reached .380 in his career.
