6 mil this year, 9.5 next year. Not too shabby a deal for Teix or Texas, although I can't imagine they hold on to him long term as that $$ tag will just continue to rise with the numbers he's putting up.

Not quite. The Cubs were going to pick Tex if they didn't get Prior when they drafted second. The Twins picked Joe Mauer first overall. The Cubs took Prior second, and I believe Texas got Texiera at fifth.

The ONLY difference between the two is that Corey was hyped up as the next great player. So, any way you cut, "a bust is a bust is a bust."

There's a much bigger difference. Corey had some success at a young age in the minors, as well as some success in the majors. Luis absolutely sucked as a pro until he was much older than all the competition.
