Sorry, if this has been posted already but would y'all be for the Cubs taking a chance on Japanese lefthander K. Ishii? (Man, I don't even want to take a chance on spelling his name) As you are all aware, the Mets released him yesterday. Do you think Rothschild could get his mechanics straightened out? His he worth the gamble? How's is y'alls Japanese?

Man oh man, do I miss Harry. Just to hear him mispronounce Grudz's name one more time, would be worth it. As far as Ishii is concerned I would at least look into it.

Someone mentioned it yesterday, and I don't think it sounds like any better of an idea today. The guy has always had serious control issues...even when he was in Japan. His strikeout rate was good his first two years in the majors but has fallen off a lot the past two seasons. He also gives up a fair share of home runs.

If the Cubs are going to add pitching (I still say RF is a higher priority), they should add someone who improves the staff, not someone who would most likely be the worst pitcher on the roster.

I suspect Ishii's headed back to Japan. His old team wants him back and I suspect they'd be willing to pay him significantly more than any MLB club.
