From what I'm hearing it looks like it's a safe bet that Manny will stay with the Red Sox (can't get equal value), Abreu will stay with the Phillies (can't get a #1 pitcher for him), and Dunn will stay with the Reds (move to 1B after the Casey trade). I still would like to get Floyd and Mench (or Kearns) for RF and platoon them. Floyd back home in Chicago might be very productive with Pierre batting leadoff, Lee batting 3rd, and Ramirez protecting him batting 5th.

I could live with Floyd - it's certainly not my #1 choice, but I don't think it would be that bad

I think the Cubs will either trade for Bradley or sign Preston Wilson....Bradley has baggage and that will either shine new light on Dusty or be the final nail in his coffin. If Dusty can't get this guy to play without outburst, no one can. I see the Cubs trading a package of players more for a SS then RF now. Bradley will not cost that much.

With the Casey trade, I'm pretty sure Kearns is likely off the block as well.

What are the chances on a deal for Lugo to play SS and bat 2nd? Would love to get Bradley and Lugo. If Walker is not used in the Bradley deal (Dodgers still goin middle IFers?) then maybe he could be dealt for another starter?

I'm thinking the Devil Rays would ask for Pie and other prospects, so the chances for a deal on Lugo aren't good.

OK I give. Why does everyone do that Kearns thing to his name? What did I miss?

How could you possibly miss "them".

If I were the Cubs I would just focus on getting Bradley without giving up Walker. Pierre, Walker, Lee, Bradley, Ramirez, Barrett, Murton, Cedeno would be a pretty solid lineup. All we would need then is possibly another starter and at least one more for the bench. I would call that a pretty solid offseason.

That I could live with, although I would arrange them a little differently.

Pierre

Walker

Lee

ARam

Bradley

Murton

Cedeno

Barrett

One of the yahoo's on Baseball Tonight thought Soriano would end up as the Dodgers 2nd baseman.

I'm thinking the Devil Rays would ask for Pie and other prospects, so the chances for a deal on Lugo aren't good.

Marte wasn't enough to get Lugo - we shouldn't even ASK.

Not sure who the yahoo in question is but he's right.

And here we thought LaMar was no longer in charge...
