Again, I don't see why anyone would be shocked at someone taking on Soriano who can still mash lefties if it only costs them around 5 mil over 3 years and something like a Chris Volstad. The O's are in desperate need of some publicity, I'd love to see Duquette jump on this move. I really do not care who the get in return.

He has good stuff but loses focus and walks a lot when the pressure is on. He's like Wertz but with two pitches. I don't think he will be a big upgrade but at the cost of Cedeno, I would do it in a heart beat.

Maybe Murton is just simply not as good as everyone wishes....It's not like the signed Jay Gibbons instead of bringing Matt up. Patterson deserved a shot.

My point about Jones is that for every plus, Church makes some bonehead moves in the outfield and on the bases.... And what about the point about Pagan? He's much worse and can't even be considered a 4th OF. I would rather keep Guzman, Marmol, or Marshall then trade them for Church....and therefore rather have Pagan then Church....

For the life of me, I can not see why everyone is so high on Church. Living about 10 minutes from RFK, I have seen a lot of Nats games. Church to me is a similar to Jones.....plus, most of his teamates can't stand him for his preaching and ego...I would rather have Pagan on the team then Church.....he is nothing more than a 4th outfielder....

Vidro is a gold glove caliber 2B when healthy...the only thing that worries me is some sports talk guys hear in DC feel that he may never play again because his knee injury is worse than the Nats are letting on.

If the deal is Prior for Tej/Bedard, I would be tempted to do this....I have watched him pitch for the O's last season and he is underrated....

They will have a team and a stadium deal soon....MLB has not dealt with the owner situation as they said they would so DC is using the stadium deal as leverage....I would be shocked if the team leaves.

I doubt it. I live in VA about 5 minutes from DC. The city is just trying to get the best deal possible and is pulling MLB's chain to do so. Everything should be wrapped up by the new year....

I think when both are compared Marte has a higher ceiling than Lugo. TB should have made that deal and then giggled like a school girl...
