Ha. So true. I was listening to the pregame on WGN radio today and Dusty was giving all sorts of excuses for the loss yesterday. He was saying they weren't really hitting the ball hard against Maddux, just a bunch of bloops. Then he said the Cubs were hitting the ball hard, but they were just hitting it right at people. Pretty much the token excuse this year. "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b@#$!?" That's all I can think when he spouts that inane "hit it right at the wrong people" excuse. Yeah, no crap, dummy! That's how people are caught/thrown out! Quit acting like people catching the ball is so unfair and unusual! Truly, this is the worst excuse of all time. You hit the ball at people when you lose in baseball. This is equivalent to saying, 'Yeah, we made great pitches but they kept running into bats that were traveling very quickly in the opposite direction.' Or a running back saying, 'Yeah, I was running really fast but then someone got in my way and I fell down.' That's Dusty logic in a nutshell.
