  1. So how long until Len and Bob start drinking on the job? If i was in their shoes I probably would have quit already or laughing hysterically at this team every time they screw up.
  2. This season is just comical. Nobody in their right minds would have done what the cubs have accomplished. Futility at its finest hour folks.
  3. IMO, he is a racist. He was totally out of line with his comments about the sun and what color skin you have. If he was white he would be fired right now.
  4. That's why Ron is so classic, I love it.
  5. The joke was on us who believed that Neifi was only going to become a bench player.
  6. He's been saying that for a while now. A couple of weeks ago I heard him say the same thing. The Cubs will probably run him out of town too. They wouldn't. It would be one of the worst PR moves in the history of human exsistance. And Cubs fans would not let them get away with it. Santo is loved by almost each and every Cubs fan. If they want to keep fans, they keep Santo. I just hope along with Santo, something happens to force a change. Whether it be end up in last place this year, Cubs sold. WHATEVER. I don't know how you take one of the most powerful teams in 2003, and instead of building on that. You end up with this heap pile of $#17!! Injuries, terrible GM, and terrible manager would do that to ya.
  7. This organization is despicable. Words cannot describe how bad thing have gotten.
  8. He's been saying that for a while now. A couple of weeks ago I heard him say the same thing. The Cubs will probably run him out of town too.
  9. How bad does it have to get until heads roll, and players get DFA'd? This is ridiculous.
  10. Ha. So true. I was listening to the pregame on WGN radio today and Dusty was giving all sorts of excuses for the loss yesterday. He was saying they weren't really hitting the ball hard against Maddux, just a bunch of bloops. Then he said the Cubs were hitting the ball hard, but they were just hitting it right at people. Pretty much the token excuse this year. "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b@#$!?" That's all I can think when he spouts that inane "hit it right at the wrong people" excuse. Yeah, no crap, dummy! That's how people are caught/thrown out! Quit acting like people catching the ball is so unfair and unusual! Truly, this is the worst excuse of all time. You hit the ball at people when you lose in baseball. This is equivalent to saying, 'Yeah, we made great pitches but they kept running into bats that were traveling very quickly in the opposite direction.' Or a running back saying, 'Yeah, I was running really fast but then someone got in my way and I fell down.' That's Dusty logic in a nutshell.
  11. I'm officially sick of the lazy POS Ramirez! What a dissapointment he has been, that lazy no good..
  12. Bah, it was a meaningless homerun as the Cubs already had the lead. Jacque = not clutch. Trade him for Dunn. A team with Jones, Dunn, and Arod as the heart of the order wouldn't win games because none of those guys hit when it counts. Can't be any worse then the Cubs as currently assembled. I'm not sure if you guys are being sarcastic when talking about whether Jones is clutch. I seem to remember about 2-3 games where a Jock hit was clutch... Dunn hit a game winning home run a couple of days ago.
  13. Bakers new strategy..bunt with every player.
  14. Maddux is over the hill and ineffective this days. I would like to see him gone.
  15. I believe Padilla hit hit once earlier in the season as well. Wasn't he on the mound, with the Angels, during the playoffs when AJP pulled that fake "I didn't strikeout" move then reached 1B? Padilla has a long memory. Texas acquired Padilla from the Phillies.
  16. Just because he's an improvement over the garbage that is out there now does not mean it makes sense to trade for, and then resign the guy. He's not very good, but he's paid like a very good player and will get a big contract. That would be incredibly inefficient usage of resources. Agreed.
  17. What did he say besides his favorite word(obviously)?
  18. Murton gets a free pass (I don't know why) from some because he's under 28 years old. Honestly, let's face the facts, we are completely out of the running to make the playoffs and for Murton this would be his first full year here. When Bynum is the other option in LF and his numbers are worse than Murton's well why not give Murton the experience? You cannot expect players to just come up from the minors and start hitting right away, especially when we have the worst coaching staff in the majors.
  19. Heck, he was gushing about Dusty, period. It made me sick to my stomach. I turned off the sound I was so ticked off.... Give him some slack, it was obvious he was drunk.
  20. Platooning w/ Bynum is a terrible idea. His numbers for the year: AVG .233 OBP. .270. Vs Righties: AVG .235 OBP. .264 Yeah, big improvement there Baker, you idiot.
  21. That is the most interesting idea I've heard to date.
  22. Hey, it's not easy being this bad.
