  1. Damn, no matter the job he does as GM you still want the guy to stay healthy. I hope he gets better.
  2. LaRouche for Gonzalez? Good move for both teams. Braves get their closer (with a nice set up man in Soriano) and the Pirates get a young first baseman to help protect Jason Bay. But don't look know but...the Pirates have Bay/Castillo/Sanchez/Paulino, and if the Gonzalez for LaRouche deal happens, the Pirates are building a very nice young stable of hitters. Why would Atlanta trade for another pitcher when they have fat man and now Soriano? Why don't you ask the Braves that? I'm on the phone with them right now..
  3. Suppan's post all star numbers: 94ip 2.39era 1.28whip .253 Lilly's post all star numbers: 80ip 4.61era 1.36whip .256 Meche's post all star numbers: 76ip 5.42era 1.59whip .271 Maybe I take back what I said about Lilly over Suppan. Meche is garbage but we all knew that anyway.
  4. Suppan didn't fair well when he played in the American league. I believe Lilly will have better numbers by going to the National league.
  5. I'll take Lilly over Suppan any day of the week.

  7. Then why not just move Soriano to start? That's what was supposed to happen before his injury and he seems fully recovered these days.
  8. i dont understand this trade?... but whats up with Soriano after the Injury? Lights out. 2.25 ERA 1.08WHIP 65K/60IP He was supposed to do something similar to Santana and eventually become a starter. This is a terrible trade for the Mariners.
  9. Peavy was starting to turn it on towards the end of last year. IMO he was affected by the WBC he participated in.
  10. He pounded the ball in the second half, and his .060 IsoD is far from a disaster. Did Pie participate in any of the winter leagues? If so, how did he do? You don't want to know. That's not good.

  12. Am I the only one who is totally opposed to the idea of having Penny here? He starting out really good last year but was mediocre at best down the stretch. I've seen him pitch and to be honest I'm not impressed.
  13. Prior will bounce back in 07. will bounce back onto the DL... If he ever gets out of the DL first.
  14. Let's face the facts, having a healthy Prior changes the entire scope of the rotation. That being said I doubt Prior will ever give us a year similar to 2003 if ever.
  15. I'll agree that "not being a finalist" does not equate to Hendry not trying. However, it should also be noted that Schmidt signing with the Dodgers does not equate Schmidt having no interest in Chicago. We don't know either way, and probably never will. One way or another it really doesn't matter considering he has signed with the Dodgers.
  16. Please no. Zito is not going to be worth nearly what he will end up getting paid. Do you think Schmidt is worth over 15mil? I personally don't think so especially considering he already has lost velocity and has age concerns. He's much closer to being worth 15+M than Zito is. Zito is going to be one of, if not THE biggest signing this year that a team is going to regret down the road. That's your opinion.

I personally don't think so especially considering he already has lost velocity and has age concerns. If Lilly is "worth" $10-11m, Schmidt is worth more than $15m. And that's why I feel we should focus on signing Zito over Lilly and Meche.

  19. Funny that's exactly what my friend said about Lilly but I think Lilly is better than that.
