  1. So because it became public we are to blame? I don't think so. There was obviously a lot of people talking from the Padres side and Towers himself was the one yapping big time about the trade anyway. If anyone is to blame it's the GM's nobody else.
  2. I don't see how signing Dusty Baker made any sense for the Reds. Nevertheless. Yeah, but the previous Gm was the one who hired him not this one.
  3. I don't see how trading for Pierre makes any sense for the reds. I doubt this is true.
  4. I missed the game. How did Hart look?
  5. Do any of you people pay any attention to anything? What seems to be the problem? The Cardinals have had a below average offense on the season, and you believe Matt Holliday makes them stacked. They also acquired DeRosa recently so it's not just Holliday.
  6. I personally think it's a waste of resources trying to acquire a 38 year old catcher as a backup when Soto is almost on his way back to the team.
  7. Do any of you people pay any attention to anything? What seems to be the problem?
  8. I think the DFA is coming if he doesnt amaze in his next few games in the minors, and since hes Aaron Miles, I dont see him amazing anyone, anywhere. Maybe their trying to shop him around before dumping him. We can hope, cant we? More money down the toilet. We've come to expect this from our moron GM.
  9. I wonder why they would make the trade after getting back DeRo though?
  10. Nice. At this point he has to be ranked our 2nd best prospect.
  11. He does have a blog though that seems to get updated regularly. http://espn.go.com/chicago/columns/blog?name=levine
  12. Personally, I'd rather take my chances on Lugo on this team splitting time with Fontenot over having to see Miles on this team ever again. If the risk is low, take a chance on him. He also has decent speed.
  13. Looks like he might be DFA'd really soon. I wouldn't mind taking a flier on him at league minimum for 2b/SS help.
  14. Too bad the Cubs didn't try out Fox at 3rd right after ARam went down with an injury. Instead, they decided to wait 1 week before Aram comes back. Dumb.
  15. About time he's removed from the leadoff spot. This move should have been made a long time ago.
  16. All those moves sound good to me. It would also be awesome if we could find away to sneak Aaron Miles into a deal for a bullpen arm. Maybe other teams don't realize he's Aaron Miles... Hendry has to man up and cut his losses with Miles. He shouldn't have been signed in the first place. He can barely play SS so what kind of bench option is he really? I'd rather have Blanco on the team. It's so frustrating seeing Miles have so many at bats this season.
  17. I'd rather keep Freel over Miles. No brainer to me.
  18. Damn. He's a good player.
  19. Awesome. Miles is worthless to the team anyway. What a horrible mistake by the best GM in all of sports.
  20. Really? Carpenter is far better than any pitcher on the Cubs Wainwright is as good as any pitcher on the Cubs Pineiro isn't as good, but is pitched as well as any pitcher on the Cubs Lohse is hurt, but he's a a solid 3rd, good 4th starter Wainwright would have the 4th best ERA on the Cubs. Carpenter would have the best ERA, but he's pitched a grand total of 65 innings. ow has Piniero pitched as well as any starter on the Cubs? Lshe is hurt? Go back to St. Louis. Carpenter's resume is solidified. Nobody on your staff is even close Wainwright over the last 3 seasons has been as good as any Cub starter, and this year he'd be second in VORP on the Cubs behind Lilly, who he is a much better pitcher than. Lilly is basically Kyle Lohse with a few more Ks, but more walks. I didn't say Pineiro was a good pitcher, but he's having a very good season. You worry about Ks, I worry about HRs and BBs. And he's given up 12 walks in 92 innings. That's great. And he's given up 2 home runs. It wont last, but that's not what I argued. Carp >>>>>>>> Zambrano Wainwright > Harden (Should he even count? He doesn't even pitch and when he does, he's awful). Lilly = Lohse Dempster > Pineiro, but that's not saying much Randy Wells? Marshall vs. Brad Thompson. Whatever, they all suck. Go to sleep. Lilly > Wainwright..
  21. Who else takes a 90+ win team and dismantles it because he needed more lefties? None other than the worst gm in MLB.
  22. I don't think Ricketts is trying to get out of the deal. They sold all of their shares of Ameritrade to purchase the Cubs. That's a significant move for them.
