    I'm so mad at Dusty right now. There was absolutely no reason to leave Mark Prior in the game after the two runs scored. While I don't want to sound like a pitch count nazi, it will be meaningless games like this you'll be able to point to when Prior blows out his elbow next year. And of course, as usual, Dusty finally takes him out one batter too late. Get rid of this clown!

    Be wary of the SouthSide Mullet Militia. Garcia now has pitched 7 innings of no-hit ball in a 0-0 game. No word yet on whether William Ligue Jr. is going to throw out the first pitch on Mullet Night. Its possible. I hear Ligue, Jr is a 4-star general in their Mulletary - in their ranks, that's like celebrity-status. :lol:

    Any chance that Lee finishes the year with 50 doubles and 40 homers? 40 homers is inevitable, but 50 doubles might be tough. I can only count a handful of players that have ever achieved it (Lou Gehrig, Hank Greenberg, Juan Gonzalez, Todd Helton, Carlos Delgado and Albert Pujols). Coming into the game, Lee was on pace for 50 doubles and 48 homers. I don't think anybody has ever had a 50/50 season. Edit: Well, I'm wrong. Albert Belle had a 50/50 season in 1995.

    Dealt for who/what? Who gives a bleep at this point... selling those two for A-prospects (now, before offseason) doesn't do us much good at this point. And yes, I know how bad Hollandworthless is. I'd be happy with whatever they could get for those two. Maybe Hendry could finagle a grade B prospect for Lawton. Plus, that would leave playing time for Murton. It's a shame he's sitting in the minors right now while this team is crashing and burning.

    Why do you think Perez will be the starting shortstop next year? Read the very first post in this thread. It said the Cubs are likely to not re-sign Nomar, and they'll probably bring back Neifi. This is just speculation by Mike Kiley. Even though he is a Chicago Cubs beat writer, I doubt he has any more legitimate insight into Hendry's plans than any of us do. So I am not going to get too worked up about this just yet.

    Excellent point. Wendell would routinely send a guy with a no outs and the middle of the order on deck. But sending Barrett was both a visual and situational error. The ball was hit too hard, and no matter who is on deck, it doesn't pay to send one of the slowest players on the team. If it were Lawton or Patterson or Neifi (or even Lee), it's a different story, but not Barrett. It's not gross incompetence on the level of Wendell Kim, but it was a poor gamble.

    Damn you Wendell Ki...I mean Chris Speier. :x There was no excuse for that. The ball was hit hard, fielded on one bounce, and you had Barrett running.

    i'm telling you, that's not matt lawton. There is no way a player's approach to hitting changes that drastically after one trade. Unless there is some sort of Clockwork Orange visual torture where they make their players associate walks with rape and murder... That would explain a lot. The Dustivico Technique.
