Bill James floated this idea in one of his books (not in the Abstract I don't think, but one of the post-abstract Baseball Books). It made sense then and it makes sense now. Unfortunately, the idea has never gained any traction. I would be OK with contraction, as long as they started with Cardinals and White Sox. :wink: -

Man, she was really annoying !! At least you didn't have to worry about the audio cutting off during a dead air moment, cuz she just would not shut up. I don't think she even paused to take a breath of air. -

Despite the latter unpleasant revelations of Kirby's life, I hope for nothing but the best. My prayers are with him and his family.

While I have little doubt there are plenty of players who have used amphetemines to gain an edge, I get skeptical when a player confesses to taking a drug and then turns around indicts the rest of the league with some inflated percentage. It reminds me of players like Ken Caminitti and Jose Canseco. He's being honest, but it also sounds like he is trying to rationalize his behavior with the "everybody does it" defense. Lot's of players may do it, but his viewpoint is distorted. That said, I'm glad they are testing for uppers along with roids.

The Cubs actually cashed in with the bases loaded and nobody out. They're going to the World Series for sure! :wink: You know it's time for baseball when you hear the first audible groan from Ron Santo (on the forceout on Hairston).

I love the train wreck singers. The whole point behind the seventh inning stretch was that Harry Caray was so bad that he would encourage others to sing along. Ozzie's warbling nonsense was classic, I'll never forget the look on the players' faces.

I thought that the Florida AGonz was the horrible AGonz. Actually, they are uncannily similar. Edit: I was surprised to see that AGonzI had one of his better offensive seasons in years with TB. I'll still never forgive him for that error.
