  1. The Cubs are rolling, Reed Johnson is and has been playing very well... so let's complain about Pie not getting enough playing time! This is so stupid. It would be one thing if Johnson were stinking it up. But he's not. Quit complaining.
  2. What's Zambrano's pitch count? Nevermind, saw it above
  3. As much as I think that Pie is going to ultimately be a bust, you gotta start him tonight.
  4. The more I think about this, the more it pisses me off. You've got a guy in Murton who clearly knows how to hit major league pitching. I don't think anyone will disagree with me when I saw that he should be playing in the majors, whether it be for the Cubs or for another team. If the Cubs truly don't feel that he's a fit for their team, what better time than now to showcase him to other teams? And if they do feel that he can be a good guy to have on the roster, again, what better time than now to let him play? This is a really puzzling move to leave him in Iowa.
  5. I don't have time to read the last 6 pages... I know that Sori was put on the DL and Patterson was called up. Any other important info related to it? Lineups, length of DL stay, why Murton wasn't called up?
  6. Sammy's still available... maybe they'll sign him to play LF. Yeah right.
  7. What's this all about? it's just fun to say that another team in our division is managed by dusty baker. Indeed it is. I was hoping for something more fun than that though. Like Dusty continuously referring to his team as "my Reds." Oh well.
  8. Would've been nice to give Woody the night off. But man oh man do I like watching him slam the door.
  9. Thanks for the info on Soriano everyone. And I mean everyone. How did the crowd react to Corey and Dusty?
  10. imagine the most ridiculous way possible... that's it. Tripped over Dusty Baker's toothpick?
  11. Considering Pie's 0-4 with 3 more K's... I'm becoming more and more convinced that that's a good thing.
  12. Just got home... how did Sori get hurt? Any update as far as how long he'll be out?
  13. One thing I've noticed is that he seems to take the first pitch pretty frequently, even if it's right down the middle like in his last at bat.
  14. Let me know if you figure it out, I need to do the same thing.
  15. Couldn't somebody who is willing to spend a lot of money for good seats be considered die-hard? I don't see why camping out overnight gives somebody more right to seats. Everybody likes to pick on the "the suits" and "corporate seats", but my experience has been that most of the people getting these seats are very big fans. Whether they are the CEO, or a receptionist who got the unused tickets at 6:15, the people who end up going are typically very much interested in the game. Go on stubhub.com and see how many of those guys with ties are selling their tickets well above face value. It would be fairer if they were available for anyone to buy at face value. How many of those guys in t shirts are selling their tickets above face value? You've got people on this site every year in the ticket thread talking about buying tickets so they can sell them. Mizzou was doing it with playoff tickets last year for God's sake. Not sure why you randomly picked me out of everyone to single out. There were plenty of people who were doing the exact same thing. The way I look at it is this. If I have the opportunity to make a few hundred bucks by spending an hour of my time online... better me than someone else. In fact, wasn't it you who was bragging about selling World Series tickets and making a grand? Or was that UMFan? I always get you two confused for some reason.
  16. This has to be the first IBB of Theriot's career
  17. Hill & Pie sucked. Lieber, Soto, and Fontenot have not. Fixed Really? He took a couple borderline strikes and made some great throws. He wasn't that bad. Borderline strikes? The first one was a curveball that was right in the zone, the second one was a fastball right down the middle. Damn, hell of a night by Soto! Edited to correct a typo
  18. Hell of a job by Lieber so far tonight.
  19. Beautiful bunt by Theriot. Something about that goatee makes Geo look a whole lot meaner.
  20. Yeah, this could easily be like 7-2 right now. We could also easily be winning if Pie knew what a strike was. He won the game for us last night, so I'll give him a pass tonight. But still.
  21. Yeah, why give a young player a chance to learn from his mistakes. If he's smart, he's learning from them right now.
  22. Wow, Felix to the bench. That's a bold move, double switch or not.
  23. And Pie takes a fastball right down the middle. Freaking idiot.
