    I know a lot of people don't put much value in batting average, but it's worth noting that opponents are hitting just under .300 off of Howry this year.

    No. Howry has been pretty bad this year.

    I'm sure he was just frustrated like we all were, but it's a weird time to make comments like that. The Cubs had so many hard hit balls that could've been hits. It was just a terribly unlucky game last night.

    You have to admit, that was a pretty impressive throw. :shock: I didn't see the play you guys are talking about, but Ankiel has an absolute cannon. I'm sure most everyone saw the play where he basically made a perfect throw from the warning track to nail a runner trying to advance to third.

    Well, usually all it takes is facing Randy Johnson. His numbers lifetime against the Cubs: 12-0 1.98 ERA 95.2 IP 138 K I knew he had completely dominated the Cubs in his career, but I was thinking we beat him in the last year or so.

    And 500 in his last 8. Still crap obviously, just pointing out how big of a difference one game can make.

    I couldn't help but laugh when I heard how the Cardinals won today. Aaron freaking Miles.

    I'm pretty much always for letting a guy try and finish a shutout, unless his pitch count is really high. Which Dempster's is not.
