  1. Who cares about the bathrooms? Are you going to NOT go to a baseball game because the area that you take a whiz doesn't have a butler in it? People don't go to baseball games to take in the asthetic (I know that's spelled wrong) beauty of the crapper. I hate it when people badmouth Wrigley by saying their bathrooms are nasty. WHO CARES! EDIT: In other words... what Vance and DJAXXFAN said.
  2. I'll never root against the Cubs, but I wouldn't be too upset if they lost 3 or 4 in a row, just to eliminate that small amount of hope that I have left.
  3. To the people who aren't Rothschild fans... what is your problem with him? Just curious, cause I've heard alot of people around baseball say that he's one of the top pitching coaches in the game.
  4. Ya think? Absolutey, but is it his fault that Dusty puts him there? He's clearly NOT a number two hitter, and you can't fault him for Dusty hitting him there.
  5. It's pretty straightforward, if you can't get on base more than 30% of the time, whether 28% or 21% is a hit, you just aren't a good offensive player. All those players you mention make significantly less outs, and they do so with more power. That's the name of the game right there. Again, putting entirely too much stock into OBP. If you're batting .280, you're doing something right. Something right, but not enough. The goal of offense is to not make outs, and Neifi makes too many outs(otherwise known as a low OBP) to be any good offensively. No, the goal of the offense isn't to not make outs - it's to score runs. That's how you win ballgames. And not to sound like Dusty Baker, but walks don't score you runs... in certain situations. Man on 3rd, or man on 2nd, you need a hit to get him home. Walking will just keep him there. And no, I'm not undermining the importance of the walk - just saying that, again, you can't just look at OBP.

  7. Looks like he "forgot who he was" all of last month and his memory is pretty bad so far in September too.
  8. The hatred directed towards Neifi is ridiculous. Should he be playing everyday? No. Has he done a very good job filling in at SS, overall? Yes, absolutely. Alot of you obsess with OBP WAY too much. Is it a telling statistic? Sure, but it's not the end all. Neifi is hitting over .280. Any way you want to incorporate his OBP, he still gets a hit 28% of the time. Andruw Jones can't say that, Rafael Furcal can't say that, and Morgan Ensberg can't say that. Point is, you'd never say that any of them stink - and they don't. Just because a guy doesn't draw walks and therefore has a low OBP does NOT mean that he's not adequate.
  9. I have a question... do you ever hang out with any of the players or coaches? Like, do you fish with Dusty or maybe take in art museums with Macias?
  10. I'm sure there are others like myself that don't know much about this guy, so could one of the posters that follows the minor leaguers tell us about him?
  11. Nice player? No. Wow, Burnitz absolutely murdered that foul ball. Nice player? Yes.
  12. I know it's fun and popular around here to bash Neifi and state that he's not qualified to play baseball, but... he really has been a nice player for us this season, coming up with several timely hits.
  13. Corey strikes out... didn't see that coming.
  14. Man, I was watching that game. I was thinking "When did you hire Greg Robinson as your defensive coordinator?" Was the fumble that became a TD legit? I couldn't believe they didn't overturn that. And that was a pathetic defensive performance. Smith was above average. He overthrew every ball of more than 10 yards, but had two ridiculous TD runs. I think on one of them he shook a lineman that had both arms around him. But since we couldn't stop a pass to #18, it was all for naught. That sucks that we lost. It really pisses me off. But... we gotta put that one aside and focus on next week. Troy embarressed us - badly - last year, and now they're coming to MU. I see us beating the living crap out of them next week. Should be a great game to attend.
  15. Probably been discussed, but... Marshall's head coach is a MORON! Why would you NOT kick it in that situation?! I'm drunk and Mizzou football starts in 2 hours, wooooooooooo.
  16. 5, I think. I'm off to the game. Have fun everyone!
  17. You're absolutely right. Yet not too many people complain about Wood's contract for next year. I know I'm not going to boo when he records out number five tonight. It's not a matter of booing the guy. It'll be pretty crippling if Wood fails to live up to his contract next year. But at least there's a chance he can be very good as he was in both 02 and 03. With Maddux, there's isn't a chance he'll live up to his deal. I agree with you, don't get me wrong. I just hate to see so much animosity towards Maddux when he's far from the only one who's making more than what he's worth.

  19. Last time the Cubs will ever play in Busch... let's make it a memorable one!
  20. Well, he DOES know the stadium! Haha, what's Enrique Wilson up to right now? Did anyone pick him up?
  21. I was hoping that Alou was the guy he fought with. Nothing like a urine soaked fist to the face!
  22. Sure didn't... I had to work all afternoon so I couldn't make it. This weekend will be a good challenge before Texas comes to Columbia and gets rocked!
