  1. After getting booed all weekend, he's got every right to enjoy this HR and let the fans know he's enjoying it.
  2. Nice. Taking 2 out of 3 this series is essential... looks like we're on our way to doing so.
  3. A single into the corner? How was that not a double? Bynum hustled

  5. and he's good now that he's beating a team with real bad offense? I didn't say he was good. Just that maybe it was a little silly and premature. He gave up a lot of runs to a good offense in a great hitter's park. Then he gave up a lot of runs to the same good offense in Wrigley with the wind howling out. I know it's popular to hate Rusch, but thinking back on it... maybe it was unfair to blast him for getting hit hard against the Reds. He gave up 2 HR to Arroyo. I don't think it was a good offense teeing off on him. Yeah, that's pretty bad when an opposing pitcher has your number. But it doesn't mean that Rusch sucks because a pitcher hits him well.

  7. So maybe we were a bit unfair in jumping all over Rusch and saying how badly he sucks after two bad outings against a team with a real good offense?
  8. Just want to say thanks to everyone for providing the updates and play-by-play.
  9. I must have missed something... what happened to Mabry?
  10. Day after a night game. Sucks, no big suprise. Ah, good call. I didn't even think of that.
  11. I'm all for bringing Pie up. The primary goal is to win games, and if he helps us do that more than anyone else, it'd be stupid to not call him up.
  12. The grass is thicker than granny's bush. Dude.
  13. I also don't have a problem with a platoon, in general. But when Todd is swinging as good of a bat as he is, I want him in the lineup.
  14. Walker was 4-5 yesterday... better bench him today.
  15. Oh yeah, how early? And what do you mean by "behind home plate?" Are you talking lower level, or what? I stood behind home plate, lower level, for a couple innings. You are at the back of the field level, directly behind home plate. But there are lots of good places to stand on the lower level. You can stand pretty much all the way down each line. There is also a tower with two levels in right field, to the right of the scoreboard (the left field one isn't finished yet). It's up high, but it's a nice place to stand for an inning or two if you like being up higher. Cool, thanks for the advice!
  16. I fail to see how it is unclassy or pathetic. I'd be opposed to this type of thing at Wrigley, but it's hardly pathetic or classless. EDIT: Oh, and those are some ugly cheerleaders. I see just one cute one, and she has some huge arms. Gross.
  17. Screw this, I'm gonna go start drinking now. Have a good one guys. Let's hope our pen holds up!
  18. Seconded I'd like to say a walk scored that run and it helped that the guy had a little speed. If he doesn't get on base running fast to the dugout is of little value. If Pierre didn't have speed, a run wouldn't have scored in that at bat because he wouldn't have been on second. Therefore, speed got us a run. whatever. Lee would have drove him in anyway. You can't assume that. Pitchers pitch differently in different situations. Why can't you just give Pierre credit for stealing second and scoring on a single?
