    Could it be that he just didn't want to discuss Bonds and steroids, in response to the question about Bonds? Nope, it must be cause he's hiding something. That's why he didn't comment on Barry Bonds. Yep.

    Should be Maddux, after the normal 4 rest days. That's what I had originally thought, but the Cubs site has him slated for Sunday. Cubs site lists Maddux as the probable for Saturday, TBA for Friday and Sunday. It does, doesn't it? I completely read that wrong. Must've been wishful thinking. Well, at least I'll have more opportunities to catch a home run ball.

    The fact is, the most important thing to winning games is productivity. Productive players win games, even some lazy ones. Hard working guys who don't produce don't win games. And my number 1 goal as a Cubs fan is to maximize wins, not effort. Yeah but that's just the thing. Hustling leads to a basehit rather than a groudout. Hustling means a double rather than a single. Hustling leads to more productivity. I'm not advocating dumping Aramis cause he doesn't hustle, but it really irks me to see him loaf it out there. If he'd give it his all, he'd be a much more productive player. And that's what we all want.

    I guess I don't understand... are you saying that you don't mind if a player doesn't hustle if he puts up good numbers? Cause I'm assuming that if Neifi Perez were as lazy as Aramis, he'd be constantly blasted on here. But because Aramis puts up good numbers, it's okay for him to not hustle?

    umm... who would our closer be then??? Howry, a better pitcher than Dempster. Howry is not a closer.... you would be setting him up to fail.. just like you did with Latoya HawkinsHas Howry ever been a closer? Just curious.

    Couple baserunning gaffs? Aramis is lazy all season. I hate lazy players. I wish he'd get his act together cause I want him to stick around, but not if he's going to half-ass it and make cocky comments after one of his rare good games. After his rare good games? Have you even watched the Cubs the last 3 seasons? Aramis is the new whipping boy, it seems. Have you watched the Cubs this season? He was horrible when we needed him to be at his best. Now that the season is over, he decides to swing the bat good again. Thanks Aramis!

    For some reason, Barrett doesn't qualify for the batting title as of right now. But if he did, he'd be 2nd in the NL in batting average. :shock:

    Are there any good bars in Rosemont? If not, what bars in Lincoln Park would you guys recommend? Any places have cheap Jaeger Bombs on Saturday nights?

    Is this a rumor that I missed? Surely it involves more than essentially trading Maddux for Tejada.

    I could see Nevin staying and being resigned next year now to serve as insurance when Lee's not ready to go next year. I would have no problem with that at all. We're going to need power off the bench, and Nevin provides just that.
