A lot of catchers will do that when they think the hitter is trying to steal location. Or the pitcher will just drill the guy, like the Mets (I think) did to Neifi a couple years ago.

If he's well below average at hitting for power, then he's also well above average at getting on base, not slightly above average. He's top ten in OBP among shortstops, and bottom ten in SLG.

I'd rather face Braun with a RHP than Fielder. There's only one out... they're going to have to face them both. Might as well walk Braun and try and induce the ground ball off the bat of Fielder.

Yes but giving Theriot overall season numbers, SS isn't the place to look for upgrades. SS isn't a hole I've said it a million times Yes, SS could be upgraded. Theriot's .710 OPS isn't that great. That could definitely be upgraded. I'm just saying he's the best option the Cubs have right now. Tell me, why do you and everyone worship the almighty OPS? OBP is much more important. I don't know if it's much more important in general, but it is pretty stupid to bash a guy because of a low OPS when he's clearly not a power hitter. Most players don't hit for power, those who do should be looked at in a positive way, rather than those who don't being looked at in a negative way.

Hahaha, what?! Zach Greinke sucks, he's not good at baseball. I don't see why several people in this thread think we'd be ripping the Royals off. Greinke is not good. Neither is Josh Hamilton. Potential > Production. I don't see much potential for a guy who was terrible in '05, sat out last year because he's a headcase, and has been terrible again as a starter this year. Are you kidding? He's been flat out ridiculous in the reliever role this year, and he's really young yet. He had some great starts at the beginning of the year. 3.38 ERA, 48 baserunners in 44 innings, .229 AVG... good numbers as a reliever, but hardly "flat out ridiculous."

Yea I like Z's chances better than Fontenots sub .600 OPS Umm, Fontenot doesn't have a sub 600 OPS. since the All Star break he does I figured that's what you were referencing... kinda cause you've said that at least 80 times in the last two days. Switch it up a little bit, like maybe mention that his OPS this month is sub 500. It makes your case so much better.
