  1. Although you'd expect his numbers at age 33 to be somewhat below his career numbers, especially considering that he is a catcher. Hopefully he continues to be a second half player and puts up decent numbers for the Cubs. I was one who thought that his numbers as a Cub would be much closer to his career line than his line in the AL, but I can't say I thought they'd be this good.
  2. Reading through this thread, it's as if people don't realize that the Cubs could have put a claim in to block another team (Milwaukee?) from getting him? You guys DO realize that that's a possibility, right?
  3. Kendall's numbers as a Cub are right in line with his career numbers. As a Cub: .286/.385/.393/.778 Career: .298/.375/.395/.770 Just sayin'.
  4. Stupid thread title. Really got me worried for nothing. FYI, a slumping player isn't automatically injured.
  5. Yeah, definitely not dark times right now. But with that aside... great post, CubsWin. You don't see too many posts like that on NSBB.
  6. Might want to update the thread title. I just assumed that this thread was a continuation of the first post -- just discussing the possibility of the move. If not for BCB, I wouldn't have known they claimed him.
  7. Kendall's throws have been awful, no doubt about it. But with that said, most of the Cubs pitchers don't do a good job of holding runners on, so you can't put all of the blame on him.
  8. Kerry Wood: good, shouldn't have come in with guys on base What do you mean he shouldn't have come in with guys on?
  9. Just got home and saw the box score... how did Woody look tonight?
  10. That seems kinda random that Rome would ask Giles about Kendall.
  11. You got my vote. I'm not going to lie though -- I stopped the video shortly after you started singing.
  12. I'm pretty indifferent to Gallagher being called up, but I do like the fact that Ohman is being sent down.
  13. Really? "F*** YOU GOD D***" Something along those lines was posted on page 51. I assumed a mod deleted it, maybe he did. Uhh yeah I edited it out the moment I said it. Either way, I'm not sure that you add anything of value to the site at any time. That should warrant a ban. Okay, maybe not.
  14. Wuertz is not as good as people make him out to be. That said, if we would have scored more than one run tonight, it would be moot for the moment.
  15. Wow, props to the Cubs pitching tonight. Only three hits in 9 innings. Let's hope Wuertz can continue the trend!
  16. Honestly, I hate listening to him. It brings back bad memories.
  17. He's been beyond awful for over two months now. Hahaha, I have a long discussion with another poster and finally come to the conclusion that we should just agree to disagree and then you chime in with that literally the next minute? Seriously goony?
  18. Look man, we're obviously not going to see eye-to-eye on this thing. You think that Marquis has been awful, I look at the numbers and disagree. Whatever. I think he's been much better than expected, and overall has been a fine addition to the back end of the rotation. If you disagree, that's your prerogative and you're certainly entitled to it.
  19. I don't think it's surprising that a team making a push for the playoffs would want a guy who has pitched in tight situations before, rather than a kid who has never stepped on a big league mound.
  20. Marquis has given up 3 runs or less in 15 of his 23 starts this year. First you say that I'm being unfair in comparing him to 5th starters and that he should be compared to 3rd starters. Fine. So I compare him to 3rd starters and show you that he's performing better than 3rd starters league wide. Whoops. Now you basically say that he rarely gives up 3 runs or less. I then show you that he's actually done that in 2 out of every 3 starts. Whoops again. What are you going to make up next? Please, if you want to continue making crap up just let me know so I can stop wasting my time responding to you. The bottom line is that Marquis hasn't been near as bad as you'd like to think he has. And since it appears that you have no idea where to find his stats, let me help you out: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6493/gamelog
