    maybe they wanted to get him away from the team before ankiel got there Makes sense, although I don't think Ankiel is doing that stuff anymore. Ankiel used to be on that stuff? It's a "friend of a friend" type thing, but according to the same person who told me that Speizio has been doing coke for years, yes. And he really has no reason to lie, so I believe it.

    I was only 7 years old at the time, but for some reason I vividly remember seeing the magic number countdown at Wrigley in '89. I hope we get to see something like that again!

    The Brewers, easily. Not sure about today, but coming into today's game the Cards have had 8 consecutive quality starts... that's not going to continue. The Cards are on a nice little hot streak, but it won't last. It ends tomorrow.

    Actually, save one inning, he had a good start today.That seems to be the problem with Marquis -- when he has a bad outing, it's usually one inning where he just self-implodes. Luckily, and unlike most other bad outings, he was able to bounce back after that bad inning today and pitch well for the rest of the game.
