  1. Cards fall to 4th place after this loss... I love it!
  2. What a nerve wracking ending. Lou should've let Lilly finish it, that was pretty ridiculous. Great to get the W though, which is all that really matters.
  3. Al and Dan have been pretty tolerable tonight. Surprisingly. Aside from the occasional Bartman reference (like last night when DeRo caught that ball in the stands), I usually don't mind them at all.
  4. LOL, he faces one guy and gets yanked.
  5. Hrabosky on the Cards broadcast speculated that it could be in St. Louis or KC. stl plz actually the stros might prefer it farther from IL Cubs wouldn't have to travel then. Although spending a week in St. Louis would take a toll on anyone. Easy now. Says the guy who lives in SE Wisconsin.
  6. Hrabosky on the Cards broadcast speculated that it could be in St. Louis or KC. stl plz actually the stros might prefer it farther from IL I would totally be there. I wonder how much they would try to get from us for tickets. I was thinking about that earlier. If I had to guess, I would say that you could get ticket for cheaper than tonight's game. I would be there too. It would probably be 85% Cubs fans there, which would be incredible.
  7. It was awesome. He totally flattened Molina. Yadi wasn't expecting anything like that from a pitcher. And then when Lily came up to bat, Looper threw one high and Lily put out his elbow as if to say "I dare you to throw at me." Great. Yeah, for sure. I earned a lot of respect for Yadi when he went out to Looper and yelled at him right afterwards too. Looper had to feel like a complete idiot after that.

  9. I know I'm a couple innings too late, but how awesome was that Lilly play at the plate?!
  10. Wow, look out for the Astros. They entered today just 4 back in the Wild Card. Aside from 3 against us, every team they play from here on out has a losing record.
  11. Great picture, what's it from? And ugh, Pie in the lineup? What the hell for?
  12. What are the matchups?
  13. Did I miss something with Gaudin and alcohol? You have to read between the lines. I've also inferred that "fell against a dumpster" means "got his ass beat by a redneck". Guess I should've read the whole blurb. Fell into a dumpster while out after a game... that's awesome.
  14. Now where standing?
  15. Did I miss something with Gaudin and alcohol?
  16. Oh my God that's freaking disgusting. Why do they even make bikinis for fat chicks? It should be illegal.
  17. Wow. Tough losses really bring out the looneys.
  18. Seriously... that crap is obnoxious and lots of stadiums do it. And people complain about "Go Cubs, Go" If you had a stadium from this century instead of that dump, you would have fireworks and alot of other things that you don't have now. Like slides! Man I wish we had a mascot that went sliding! Weee!!!
  19. The Soto bunt was horrible, you're right. But as I mentioned in the game thread, pitching to Izturis was the right call. He's not good at baseball. You should assume that Carlos Marmol can strike him out and then retire Schumacker somehow. Loading the bases with one out for Skip Schumacker, a good hitter with good speed, would've been the wrong call.
  20. Cause it's Izturis. You expect him to ground out or pop out to shallow right. You can't expect him get a check swing slow rolling game winning hit. My major problem in the 9th was why Marmol kept going with the slider to Lopez... he was out in front every time; had he put it in play, the runner easily moves over to third. He walked him so it's moot, but still. A ground out is bad. It requires Soto to catch it cleanly AND tag the runner. You load the bases for the force at home AND set up the double play. And amazingly, it wasn't even the worst managerial decision Lou made in the game. For Schumacker, a good hitter who runs pretty well? Disagree completely.
